Head Technology Transfer (m/f), Gaillard

Your Tasks and responsibilities

Establishing the strategic focus of the Tech Transfer group by :

• Working with the Development Centre Head to establish overall TT strategy and operating model
• Defining and communicating TT-specific objectives that deliver winning consumer propositions
• Providing technical leadership to the TT team and representing TT function on cross-functional projects
• Managing the investment plan for the GMP area and leading investment projects as required.
• Ensuring that TT maintains a best-in-class position relating to cutting edge technology, technical capabilities aligned with the business needs, efficient practices and overall operation model
• Effectively planning, monitoring and managing department and TT capital budget.

Lead process development and technology transfer by:

• Leading the optimisation and pilot phases for all Nutritionals, Digestive Health and Dermatology NPD projects,
• Ensuring that robust and cost effective processes are developed according to business need and agreed timelines,
• Leading the production of optimisation, pilot and industrial feasibility batches,
• Organising all development trials and activities required to ensure successful and timely transfer of NPD project to the production sites,
• Providing technical leadership to the TT team,
• Ensuring that the TT developments are performed in accordance with internal SOPs and appropriate regulatory guidelines,
• Answering deficiency letters from regulatory authorities related to process development and technology transfer,
• Representing TT in Global Project Teams.

Manage the GMP facility:

• Ensuring that the GMP area is maintained in accordance with GMP requirements,
• Ensuring that pilot equipment is scalable to an industrial scale
• Retain and grow global world-class capability, ensuring new approaches to drive efficiency are evaluated/developed.

Effectively leverage relationships and allocate resources by:

• Ensuring strong people development and a talent pipeline
• Managing interactions with other product development teams,
• Be externally focussed to keep current with the latest technologies
• Effectively managing relationships with Product Supply, GQM and manufacturing sites,
• Working with Product Supply to develop standardised equipment/processes.

Manage the Technical Operations Group :

• Oversee the supply of human trials samples
• Oversee the provision of technical supplies for the labs and pilot plant including all technical ordering
• Manage the technical and operational maintenance for instrumentation in the labs and pilot plant.
• Oversee the materials and samples storage facility

Profile

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other relevant scientific discipline
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the FMCG/ FMCH area
• Track record of NPD launches and leading development of new innovative products
• Knowledge of GMP and GLP requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal leadership and communication skills with a demonstrated experience of managing a team effectively.
