Your roles & Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate technical activities during the development of new products either with external development organisations or GIDC (and sometimes both):

  1. Lead the technical development team
  • Plan the technical development steps and evaluate their cost and risks in collaboration with the technical team.
  • Coordinate all internal and external staff working in the project group (Formulation, Analytics, Scale-up, Packaging and the manufacturing site)
  • Ensure all technical activities fulfil the country regulatory requirements.
  • Make sure that prototypes developed are compliant with the specifications (quality, cost of goods)
  • Monitor project progress, and ensure monthly reporting
  • Coordinate corrective actions in the event of problems, in collaboration with the technical project team
  • Maintain project documentation (risk analyses, project costs and schedules, project archiving, correspondence with the industrial site, etc.)
  • Motivate the technical development team, explaining/communicating project objectives and orientations
  • Lead the definition of the Target Product Profile (TPP), in partnership with the Category Innovation Director
  • Leads technical Due Diligence for off-the-shelf solutions or in-licensing options.
  1. Represent GIDC within project teams:
  • Bring an aligned technical strategy and integrated project plan to the Core Project Team.
  • Be familiar with the activities/responsibilities of each department involved in the project (marketing, regulatory affairs, clinical, PS, Global Project Leaders, etc.)
  • Actively participate in the definition of project success criteria and measurement, technical success criteria in particular
  • Ensure reporting on technical development activities
  • Propose solutions to technical problems encountered by trying to minimize impacts on general project progress.
  • Ensure monitoring of time-scales and costs and associated reporting with the Global Project Leader.
  1. Represent the technical project team with stakeholders:
  • Make proposals and obtain validation from the Copil (DC steering committee) for time-scales, development costs and risk assessments for new projects
  • Inform management of project progress and any deviation from the general development plan and notify them of any priority conflicts between projects
  • Ensure project review with the R&D lead team and justify the team’s technical choices
  1. Estimate and manage the project budget
  • Estimate and manage development site budget for assigned NPD projects. This includes both internal FTE as well as external spend requirements in collaboration with the technical team and in accordance with the project core team.

Qualifications

  • Relevant science degree
  • Work experience : 5 years or more in the pharmaceutical, health care or consumer products industry.
  • Experience in project management and/or regulatory affairs is desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required.
